As June work piles up, I notice how easily interfaces collect noise. Extra states, extra hints, extra cards, and extra choices all compete for the same attention.
I do not think less is always better. But I do think every element should earn its place in the user decision.
When I simplify a screen, I start by asking what is competing with the main task. Sometimes the answer is visual. Sometimes it is language. Sometimes it is a secondary feature that belongs later.
Designing with less noise is not about making the product sparse. It is about making the important thing easier to find.
